Copper Tone Tan

No, this isn't about Shaun King's secret to passing as a POC.

This is about Dr. Copper and the charts over at the Market Oracle.

Meteorology and economic forecasting exist to make astrology look good.  Actually, reading the gibberish on those copper charts is a lot like listening to an astrologer explain a horoscope. If you have nothing better to do, click on over and take a look.

What it boils down to is that copper has been well under $3.00 for quite some time now, and there is no indication that it will rise any time soon (last check here was $2.28).  The various governments can say all they want about housing starts and growth, but if there is no big demand for copper, and no particularly high demand for oil, it probably means that things are not really coming out of the recession.

I don't think it is reasonable to deny that governments around the world are cooking the books.  In the real world we have unemployment near the levels of the Great Depression.  I don't believe China's numbers, but I'm not particularly convinced by our own BLS numbers.

Look out for September.

  1. That's a great way to double check the lies the MSM and govt. spews about the so-called recovery and "strong" economy.
It's all smoke n' mirrors compared to the reality of what is really happening.
The number of panhandlers around here have increased exponentially the last ten years, which would be another indicator.
iirc I believe you have mentioned all the bubbles we got floating around in govt. and our economy, something to the effect of more bubbles than Lawrence Welk, lol.

I am definitely keeping a stash of more cash than I used to. I wish I didn't have to use a bank at all. I mean, the folks there seem nice (and my bank is only a small local one) but the govt. has way too much power and influence over the banks, not to mention telecommunications and other businesses.
And now they have their nose in the internet. Egads.

Peobably a good idea to have lots of commodity's on hand if it gets so bad we hafta barter in a major collapse.
