Signposts on the Road to the Future?

Things are going well in Greece -- at least with supposedly racially-motivated attacks on non-Greeks.  I can't really trust the media reports on this.  I suspect there is more to it than simple "right-wing" nationalism or racism.  The government debt crisis, high unemployment, and worsening economic conditions are bound to change the outlook people have.

We look at Greece and say that the nation has been living off Germany and the northern tier of the EU.  But how much of that is due to immigrants moving in and attaching themselves like ticks to the system?  We know there is a large contingent of parasitic immigrants in France -- mostly Muslims.  Perhaps that is also the case in Greece, and some people are waking up to it in the face of compulsory austerity measures.

Europe has encouraged immigration because of the below-replacement-level birthrate.  You have to have someone to pick up the garbage, trim your shrubs, and program your computers.  Along with the workers came the parasites, and many of the workers have figured out how to play the system to get more benefits like low-cost housing and free medical care.

As long as there are freebies for all, everybody gets along, but when the arithmetically-inevitable crunch comes, it is a different story.

America is not that far behind.

  1. About that below replacement level birthrate. My wife and I stopped at two children. Had to protect the planet. Just replace yourself was the mantra hammered into us from our youth. Do that and we won't spoil this lovely country any more. Besides, we weren't wealthy enough to launch more than two into middle class America what with the orthodontics and the activities and the education costs. And not just the money, but the time and energy as well.

So we pay taxes to support the fat, unwed mother in the checkout line in front of us (cute baby by the way) and the open spaces we left for the sake of the planet are to be filled with immigrants. And none of our replacements share our American values.

    We lost.

  2. Oh, forgot to add some multipliers to the above formula.

    (the scenario mentioned above)*100,000,000*25years.

  3. It's true. Greenfield is on it, too.. The left has to have the immigrants.

That's one of the reasons I'm ambivalent about the leftist media reporting on what's happening in Greece. That's upsetting their long-term plan.

Actually, I'm not ambivalent. I think the Golden Dawn is right.

We only have two kids as well. My wife was advised to have no more after she was diagnosed with Type I diabetes when our son was born. But the kids only have two apiece. So it's barely replacement level.

I do see more people around here with larger families. Regular working people, so maybe it will turn.
